Prep

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 November 2026

In short: Prep doesn't collect your data. There are no accounts, adverts or tracking. Your stock, household and history stay on your devices and in your own private iCloud. The website's tools run in your browser and send nothing to us.

Who we are

Prep is made by SGWNI ("we", "us"). Questions: hello@preppantry.app.

The website

The calculators and checklists run entirely in your browser. What you type isn't sent to us. Your household details are saved in your browser so that other tools can use them, and "Forget my household" clears them. Shared links keep your inputs in the part of the address after the # sign, which browsers don't send to websites.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It uses no cookies and doesn't identify you. Cloudflare hosts the site and, like any web host, handles the connection needed to serve pages.

The app: what you put into Prep

To work out how long your supplies would last, Prep stores what you enter: your stock, your household, your kits and checklists, a history of what you've used or thrown out, and your settings. You don't have to enter anything that identifies you.

Everything is saved on your device. If you're signed in to iCloud, it's also synced between your devices in your private iCloud database. That data belongs to your Apple Account and we can't access it. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

Barcode lookup

When you scan or type a barcode, Prep sends that number to Open Food Facts, a non-profit product database, to fill in the details and fetch a photo. Nothing else is sent. Like any website, it can see your device's IP address when it answers. See their privacy policy.

Camera

Used only to read barcodes, when you choose to scan. The image is processed on your device, and isn't saved or sent anywhere.

Apple Intelligence, Siri and reminders

"Type or say it" uses Apple Intelligence on your device. If you ask Siri or Shortcuts about your supplies, Apple processes the request and Prep answers on your device. Reminders are scheduled on your device.

Apple Watch and widgets

A small summary of your stock passes directly between your iPhone and Apple Watch, and between Prep and its widgets. It never goes through us.

Subscriptions and payments

Prep Premium is sold by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, Apple Account or payment details.

What we don't do

Deleting your data

Delete items, batches, kits and household members in the app. To delete everything, delete the app, and remove the iCloud copy in Settings, your name, iCloud, Manage Storage, Prep.

Your rights

We don't hold personal information about you, so there's nothing for us to access, correct or delete. If you have a question, email us. In the UK you can also contact the Information Commissioner's Office.

Children

Prep is a general household app. It doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date above. If the app ever starts sending your data anywhere new, we'll say so here and in the app first.
